Rocky began his Professional career as a baseball player in the New York Mets Organization.
He played Minor League baseball for 4 years before making the transition into broadcasting, which began his journey through music.
Rocky’s entrance into radio was influenced by his love to entertain. He has always been somewhat of an entertainer: whether taking goofy pictures to get a laugh or showcasing as the class clown in school. He has always been amazed by the power of radio and how a DJ (Jock) has an opportunity to be a positive influence in thousands of peoples lives.
Rocky began his broadcasting career for KKDA – K104fm in Dallas / Ft.Worth. For six years he contributed #1 ratings for Mid-days, Afternoon Drive & Nights). During this time he set out to learn and study the music business. His mixtapes still flood the streets, helping many new artists get discovered. Dj Rock-T has produced remixes for the likes of Brandy, Destiny’s Child, Nappy Roots & 3LW. Rock-T has also appeared in two independent films: “Wash It Up” & “Diggin For Dollars”. Currently, Rocky blazes the airwaves for the one of the Hottest Syndicated Radio Morning Shows in the Country - The Rickey Smiley Morning Show. He is President of Trakk Team Productions.
The Rock-T Foundation mentors thousands of teens across the country.
THE ROCK-T FOUNDATION IS A NON-PROFIT EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM WHICH PROVIDES POSITIVE INFLUENCE FOR YOUTH AND YOUNG ADULTS. THE MAIN PURPOSE IS TO EFFECTIVELY EDUCATE, INSPIRE AND EMPOWER OUR YOUTH , ALSO HELP RAISE THEM TO BE SUCCESSFUL AND PRODUCTIVE MEMBERS IN OUR COMMUNITY. THE ROCK-T FOUNDATION ENCOURAGES THE YOUTH TO BREAK THE BONDAGE OF MENTAL IMPRISONMENT AND WRITE NEW PRODUCTIVE CHAPTERS IN THEIR LIVES. OUR MOTTO IS:
